Alachua County Schools to Rely on GST Tracker
Schools buses will be equipped with real-time vehicle-tracking systems

School officials at Alachua County School District recognize the growing role of technology in school transportation.
Charged with the task of transporting students to and from school safely and efficiently, Alachua County Schools chose GST Tracker, a real-time bus tracking system.
With the GST Tracker, dispatchers gain powerful tracking control including:
On-demand polling - get all relevant information on the fleet at anytime.
On-schedule polling - schedule a regular time to get the information.
Multiple time windows - get the flexibility to poll vehicles from a single bus to the entire fleet and at different times.
Variable schedules - poll vehicles with different time parameters, from one second to 24 hours.
Safety is of utmost importance when it comes to the transportation of children on school buses.
With GST Tracker, a real-time bus-tracking system, bus drivers can access Emergency Alert to request immediate response through the use of the panic button in the vehicles.
Currently, the panic button is located on the GST Tracker unit but can be hidden out of sight.
Once the panic button is pressed by the bus driver, the dispatcher is immediately notified of an emergency request. The dispatcher can then dispatch help to resolve the emergency.
With the GST Tracker - Dispatch Center software, dispatchers have the capability to perform Near Buses Locating to locate nearest buses for quick-response dispatching. A detailed map display helps dispatchers to clearly assess the situation of all the buses.
