Ventura County Sheriff's Department Chooses GeoSpatial Technologies
Patrol Units to Use Mapping and Routing Software
Ventura County, CA (August, 2004) -
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department awarded GeoSpatial Technologies a contract to provide state-of-the-art mobile computer software for real-time incident mapping and dynamic navigation.
With GST Mapper, the entire VCSD fleet of patrol units will use AT&T GPRS modems to transmit both GPS positions and incident locations between field officers and the dispatcher.
With Dynamic Navigation, field officers will see real-time mapping on the on-board Mobile Data computer of the shortest route between the responding vehicle and the incident location. As the vehicle approaches the incident location, GST Mapper zooms in on the area and provides more detailed information.
