GST announced the latest release of GST Mapper® E911
Santa Ana, CA (January, 2006) —
GST has announced a new product release of GST Mapper® E911, a comprehensive mapping technology interfaced with E911 dispatch phone system. GST Mapper® E911 provides real-time mapping of 911 calls from landlines and cellular phones, and displays 911 calls on GIS map or aerial photography. The software uses PSAP Wireless ALI Format 04 Phase I and II, differentiates 911 calls within and outside of jurisdiction, and allows the dispatcher to generate quickest route from any location to a 911 call. It also offers options to display CAD incidents/events with 911 calls, display vehicles through Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) interface with 911 Calls, or display GPS-equipped handsets or other mobile assets tagged with GPS devises through interface with 911 Calls.

Hong Chou, CTO of GST, "With this tool, when multiple calls of the same incident are received from different individuals, the dispatcher may easily tell that those calls are of the same incident and avoid dispatching multiple units to respond to the same case, thus saving important resources for other emergency calls. If the call is within the jurisdiction, the dispatcher may dispatch the closest unit to respond; if the call is outside the jurisdiction, the dispatcher may immediately transfer the call to the proper agency."
