GST announced the release of GST CrimeMap® 4.0.

Santa Ana, CA (April, 2006) — GST announced the release of GST CrimeMap® 4.0, the latest version of GST's advanced crime mapping and analysis system. GST CrimeMap® is a GIS-based mapping system providing comprehensive analytical capabilities to assist law enforcement agencies analyze complicated distribution of crime incidents. The new release features effective database management tools for data import/export, selection and classification of incidents, creation of maps, charts, and reports, and efficient procedures for a variety of spatial and temporal analyses. While GST CrimeMap offers powerful tools designed for crime analysts to conduct analytical tasks, it is also user-friendly and suitable for officers, administrators, and detectives that do not have much background in GIS or mapping.

The newly released GST CrimeMap® 4.0 brings additional functionality and significant enhancements to GST's CrimeMap series of products. The system's standard database is MS SQL Server, with improved importing and reporting features to handle commonly used subject data such as Megan's database and Parolees database. GST CrimeMap® 4.0 uses GST Mapper® as its native mapping engine, thus it does not require any third-party GIS or mapping software. Its data exchange utilities provide functions for importing and exporting digital maps in common shapefile format. Designed for the highest level of organizational interoperability, GST CrimeMap® 4.0 is fully integrated with GST CrimeMap® Lite for detectives and dispatchers, and GST CrimeMap® Mobile for officers in a mobile environment. The GST CrimeMap® series offers tremendous interoperable capabilities to support multiple agencies in sharing critical information for preventive measures, emergency responses, and mission-critical operations.
