GST Mapper® MDC brings the advanced mobile mapping and real-time tracking technologies to Riverside County Sheriff's Department
Riverside County, CA (May, 2006) —
Riverside County Sheriff's Department extends GST's mobile mapping technologies to its operations by incorporating GST Mapper® MDC in its patrol vehicles. GST Mapper® is a mapping software developed specifically for supporting mission-critical operations with the highest level of multi-department, multi-agency interoperability. RCSD has implemented GST Mapper® at its dispatch positions, allowing dispatchers to obtain mapping and location information throughout the county. With GST Mapper® MDC installed on Mobile Data Computers (MDC), patrol vehicles will be able to access mapping information, incident locations, and even the current locations of other patrol units in real time from any location in the county. The mobile AVL system is built on GST's Patent, US Patent 6,363,320 B1, Thin-client Real-time Interpretive Object Tracking System, issued to GST in 2002. In addition, the patrol units also possess the capability of dynamic navigation from the vehicle's current GPS position to the incident location obtained from the CAD through a wireless communication network.
Since 1999, RCSD has been using GST CrimeMap™, the state-of-the-art crime analysis and mapping system, at both the Central Crime Analysis Unit and RCSD's Stations throughout the County. With GST Mapper® MDC implemented, RCSD will provide its patrol units with the latest mobile mapping technology with more powerful and flexible mapping and tracking capabilities, thereby enhancing safety and efficiency with daily operations.
