San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, CA, adopts GST CrimeMap Pro 4.0 for crime analysis and mapping

Santa Ana, CA (January, 2007) — San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department (SBCSD), the law-enforcement agency that serves the largest county in the nation and many contract cities within the county, has joined other Sheriff's Departments in Southern California to use GST CrimeMap Pro 4.0 to support crime mapping and analysis. Multiple licenses of CrimeMap Pro 4.0 will be installed at both Rancho Cucamonga Police Department and the Sheriff's Department's Technical Services Division in February 2007. The system will interface with the county's existing incident database, and incorporate the latest GIS database of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, to provide crime analysts with a comprehensive set of advanced mapping, reporting, and analytical capabilities.

GST CrimeMap Pro offers several important advantages for law enforcement agencies. Unlike other crime mapping software, GST CrimeMap does not require any third-party GIS programs, which not only makes GST CrimeMap the most cost-effective solution, but also minimizes the agency's maintenance efforts. Designed specifically for effective operations with multiple concurrent users and long-term database management, the program uses MS SQL Server as the standard database management system for large agencies, and uses the license-free MS SQL Express for small agencies. In addition to CrimeMap Pro, GST CrimeMap series has two other interrelated products, GST CrimeMap Lite designed for commanders, detectives, and dispatchers, and GST CrimeMap Mobile designed for field officers using Mobile Data Computers (MDC). While each can work nicely as a standalone system, the three products can be seamlessly integrated to provide law-enforcement agencies of any size with a complete solution with built-in interoperability.
