Trenton Police Department Deployed GST Optima System for Patrol Units and Emergency Response Handsets
Trenton, NJ (July 2008) —
Trenton Police Department (TPD) deployed GST Optima System for their patrol units using Broadband Cards installed in the vehicles' mobile data computers (MDCs). The GST Optima System provides state-of-the-art mapping and tracking technologies for TPD's dispatch center, emergency operation center (EOC) and mobile command posts (CP). With the real-time tracking capability, dispatchers can effectively identify and dispatch the unit closest to an incident.
TPD also deployed the Sprint ERT Go-Kit with GST Optima. For major incidents and planned events, TPD can breakout the Sprint ERT Go-Kit and handout the GPS-Enabled handsets. With GST Optima, a call-sign can be assigned to each handset on-the-fly. Using the GST Optima System, TPD's Mobile CPs, EOC, and Dispatch will be able to view in real time locations of both patrol units and GPS-Enable Handsets and have one common operating picture.
